Space Artworks was set up in 2012 to provide a diverse and creative gallery arts space and support artists in Scotland living with a disability, long term illness and carers to make and promote their artwork alongside other makers.

Background:

Space Artworks began with 20 artists and makers of Scottish crafts. By 2017 we regularly supported over 50 artists and makers with requests every month from individuals and groups who wanted to make and exhibit their artwork in the gallery.

We staged over 15 group and solo exhibitions.

We ran regular one to one workshop for adults with additional needs

We also ran 20 different community skills workshops including painting, sculpture, sewing, textiles, kids drawing.

After 5 fantastic and rewarding years in Morningside and to become more sustainable we have now moved from our gallery to focus on events exhibitions and workshops in the community. (see the WHAT'S ON page)

You can keep in touch with us through our Facebook page or join our mail list: info@spaceartworks.co.uk

We are proud to be one of Edinburgh's 20 social enterprises, playing our part in the provision of ethical and local goods.
