Space Artworks is a shared studio hub in Scot Arts complex in St Margarets House where we offer bespoke workshop sessions and exhibition opportunities.
Background and history
Space Artworks was set up as a social enterprise in 2012. We ran a successful gallery and studio in Morningside Edinburgh to sell art and local crafts. We supported artists with a disability, long term illness and carers to make and promote their artwork alongside other Scottish makers. We began with 20 artists and by 2017 we regularly supported over 50.
We ran regular one to one art sessions for adults with additional needs, staged over 20 exhibitions and ran community arts and craft workshops for adults and kids.
Supported by our partners Including Kirans Trust and Firstport.
After 5 fantastic and rewarding years we closed the gallery in order to become more sustainable and moved to our current location where we continue to run workshops and stage a biannale exhibitions for our studio and guests artists.
